Lucy’s House

Mason’s Bend, AL

The Lucy House, a development which truly excited Samuel Mockbee, consisted of three main elements: a single-story living space, a screened-in porch, and a unique but simple tower that doubled as a master bedroom upstairs and tornado shelter/family room downstairs. What made the Lucy house so incredibly unique were the insulated walls made from 72,000 individually stacked carpet tiles.
